Structural Dynamics Engineer
This is a contractor position located in Philadelphia, PA
Quanta is looking for an experienced professional in the Structural Dynamics discipline to join the engineering team based at our site in Philadelphia. The assignment is for 1 year with the possibility for extension.The candidate will perform dynamic analysis and provide test support for fixed/rotary wing/tiltrotor aircraft in coordination with other functional engineering disciplines. He/She will report analytical/experimental results to verify that systems meet requirements and specifications and will document certification and test results to substantiate for regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. He/She will also develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the certification effort.Job Responsibilities:
Develop aircraft finite element models, including integration and coordination of models received from other engineering groups.
Perform frequency response, modal and aeroelastic analyses.
Determine flutter margins.
Experimental tests data collection and reduction.
Develop, implement and maintain custom tools for conducting dynamic response analysis using custom
Matlab tools and NASTRAN DMAP.
Analyze aircraft structural dynamic response and load distributions for gust and landing conditions.
Prepare formal documents to report the analytical results.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Degree(s) in Aerospace Engineering (preferred) with a focus on dynamics and aeroelasticity and on finiteelement modeling techniques, flutter analysis, frequency domain data analysis and vibration.Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering. Experience in a relevant engineering position:o 9 or more years’ experience (Bachelor’s)
o 7 or more years’ experience (Master’s)
o 4 or more years’ experience (PhD) Highly skilled in finite element modeling and strong experience in MSC Nastran and Patran, with a focus on dynamic response analysis and gust loads.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment.Knowledge of FAR/EASA Part 25 requirements is highly desirable. Experience in scientific programming languages.
