Crossroads Programs, Inc. is a non-profit organization in Willingboro, NJ that provides basic needs, education access, job and life skills training, and mental health therapy to youth in our family-like residential programs. Over the years, Crossroads' expertise and continuum of services for youth who are homeless, at-risk, or part of the child welfare system have expanded to include a comprehensive network of residential and community-based programs that have resulted in improved outcomes and enhanced futures for the thousands of kids and families Crossroads has served since its inception. The agency's mission has remained the same: empowering homeless, abandoned, abused, or at-risk youth to lead healthy, productive lives. We are currently recruiting for the following position:
YOUTH SUPPORT WORKER - Willingboro & Ewing, NJ Programs
Under the direction of the assigned manager/supervisor, the Youth Support Worker provides continual monitoring and supervision of youth. S/He assists with the implementation and monitoring of service plan goals as well as teaching and assisting youth in life skills training, maintenance of their rooms and assigned areas of houses and in the preparation of meals. The Youth Support Worker assists with other daily living needs, including but not limited to appointments and schedules, school attendance and homework, transportation, recreation, childcare services, emotional needs and special tasks as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience working in a direct service capacity with youth in a group home setting. A Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or Counseling is preferred. Additional requirements: ability to engage and empower at-risk youth by listening, supporting and giving choices and being a positive role model. Must possess a valid driver’s license, strong verbal and written skills and must respect cultural and human diversity.
