Acelero Learning is a direct provider Head Start services in four states (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Wisconsin). Shine Early Learning partners with local organizations to support the delivery of high quality services through Shine Assist and Shine Implement programs.
We are seeking an inspired and dedicated parent recruiter for the lower north Philadelphia area.
A Parent Recruiter recruits children for the program and works with the Family Advocate. This position supports the larger system of social services coordinated by Head Start thereby supporting the goals of the program. Responsibilities: The Parent Recruiter will ultimately be evaluated on how many children and families are recruited, and must recruit a minimum of ten (10) children application(s) per week. The Parent Recruiter’s responsibilities chiefly fall within the following core functions of (although s/he may perform other tasks as needed) Recruitment, Selection, and Enrollment; RECRUITMENT, SELECTION, AND ENROLLMENT Ensure the eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance to meet the needs of families in response to community assessment. 1. Recruit those most in need of Head Start services, including previously underserved populations from a defined recruitment area. 2. Determine the eligibility of children, ensuring that no more than 10% come from families whose income exceeds the federal poverty guideline. 3. Ensure that at least 10% of children served have an identified disability. 4. Select children and families based on enrollment criteria and maintain a waiting list of eligible children to enroll in the event of attrition. 5. Assign children to program options (center-based or extended day) that best meet the needs of their families. Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED. AA/AS in social work, education or a related field preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/English)
• Pass physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen.
• Able to lift a child weighing 40 pounds, 20 times a day if needed.
• Driver’s license and automobile required.
• Basic computer literacy in email, word processing and internet navigation.
